Using Your Own Gold for Bespoke Handmade Jewellery
Can I Use My Own Gold for a New Piece?
Absolutely — I love working with old gold. There’s something really meaningful about taking jewellery that’s been tucked away in a drawer and giving it a new life.

If you have gold you no longer wear — maybe inherited rings, broken chains, or just something that isn’t your style anymore — I can melt it down and use it to create something entirely new. It’s one of my favourite parts of the job.
Not only is this more sustainable (no new gold needs to be mined), but it also keeps the emotional value alive. You get to wear something new that still holds the history of the original.
Sometimes I can reuse the gold itself, and sometimes we use its scrap value toward the cost of a bespoke piece. It depends on the type and purity of the gold, but I’ll always guide you through the best option.
If you’d like to explore the idea of remodelling your old gold, just get in touch. I’d be delighted to hear your story and see what we can make together.
