Hi, I'm Sian, and I make every piece of SEHjewellery by hand in my little garden studio. One of the most important decisions I’ve made in my jewellery-making journey is to work almost exclusively with recycled gold. Here’s why.

Gold is a beautiful, precious material — but traditional mining can have devastating environmental and social consequences. By choosing recycled gold, I can create jewellery that’s kinder to the planet. It’s exactly the same high-quality metal, just reclaimed and re-refined rather than freshly mined.

Using recycled gold is my way of reducing waste and supporting a circular economy. I often melt down old family gold for customers and transform it into something new — something meaningful, wearable, and full of personal history. It’s such a joy to help preserve those stories.

Recycled gold is also perfect for handmade jewellery. Because I work in small batches using simple tools, I’m in complete control of the process — and that starts with choosing thoughtful materials.
