Recycled gold

How I make my jewellery

I make my jewellery by hand using basic jewellery making tools as I work from a tiny and modest jewellery making workshop in my garden.

To shape the gold and silver I use pliers and hammers to forge the metal.

To attach one piece of gold to another I solder them together using a blowtorch to heat the metal.

To add texture I strike and hit the metal with a variety of differently shaped hammers.

To add a smooth, matte or shiny finish I file and sand the gold or silver.

Sometimes I’ll use experts for bespoke orders such as engraving or casting.
